#GivingTuesdayNow: Community Comes Together for Global Day of Giving
Posted in: Alumni News and Events
On Tuesday, May 5, Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß participated in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity, in support of our students. The campaign was an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
We are grateful for all who have supported Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß students by helping us raise nearly $20,000 in much-needed funds for two important initiatives – the Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Student Emergency Fund and the Feliciano School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation’s MIX Lab PPE project.
The Provident Bank Foundation kicked off the campaign by matching the first $5,000 raised, dollar for dollar. The day was designed to encourage communities around the world to come together online through opportunities for engagement, generosity and philanthropic support. The global movement emphasized causes that are supporting the fight against COVID-19 and aiding those most in need.
For Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß, #GivingTuesdayNow represented a chance to come together as a community of loyal supporters and give to areas that need it the most. Kevin Rippon ’13, a loyal donor and member of the President’s Club, recorded a video asking fellow alumni to join him in support of the University’s initiatives.
“Now more than ever, in the wake of COVID-19, we need your help,” said Rippon.
This global movement was a success with communities around the world coming together online to show generosity and philanthropic support in the fight against COVID-19 and aiding those most in need.
Although #GivingTuesdayNow is over, you can still show your support. We invite you to learn more about the Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Student Emergency Fund initiative.
