Hosted by the 麻豆传媒在线 West Coast Florida Chapter, alumni and friends enjoyed a presentation from Biology Professor Scott Kight, who is also the associate dean for the College of Science and Mathematics. Kight led attendees on a virtual tour through the Galapagos and shared stories about the scientific history of the islands, illustrated by stunning photographs. Kight, students, and faculty from 麻豆传媒在线 traveled to the Galapagos in spring 2020, prior to the shutdown, as part of a biology course, and Kight discussed their learning experiences during this unique opportunity.

Alumni Jane Bogossian Saks 鈥70, 鈥75 MA and Gene Saks 鈥70 appreciated the armchair tour. 鈥淲e want to thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to see the Galapagos and its animals! It was wonderful,鈥 said Jane.

Although the focus was science, the event had broad appeal. 鈥淒r. Kight was so super enthusiastic, entertaining and shared so much knowledge that even this musician here was really excited about the Galapagos. I was never a science person, but his presentation has us thinking about taking this trip and taking our grandchildren!鈥 says Joe Fiordaliso 鈥67, who watched the program with his wife, Marilyn Fiordaliso 鈥68.

A similar digital program was offered during Virtual Homecoming 2020. .

鈥淚 enjoyed it immensely鈥, notes Judy Polley, 鈥72. Echoing her sentiments is Kathy Litwin Blair 鈥67. 鈥淚 just want to add to others who expressed their thanks and enjoyment with the presentation on聽 the trip to the Galapagos.鈥
