  {"id":208372,"date":"2020-01-08T16:02:27","date_gmt":"2020-01-08T21:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/arts\/?p=208372"},"modified":"2020-01-29T16:24:21","modified_gmt":"2020-01-29T21:24:21","slug":"wmsc-nominated-for-10-national-broadcasting-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/arts\/2020\/01\/08\/wmsc-nominated-for-10-national-broadcasting-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"WMSC Nominated for 10 National Broadcasting Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WMSC, \u201cthe voice of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß,\u201d has been nominated for ten national awards in the following categories by the <strong>Intercollegiate Broadcasting System<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The winners will be announced at the IBSNYC on March 6-8.\u00a0 It will be the 80th annual awards ceremony for the organization.\u00a0 The WMSC nominations include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best On- Air Personality:\u00a0<\/strong>Ryan Trick<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Live Music Broadcast:<\/strong>\u00a0The Rad Trads (Shane Furst, Pam Burrows, Nick Cherrey, Nate Williams)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Celebrity Interview:\u00a0<\/strong>Interview with Soledad O\u2019Brien \u00a0(by Stephen Rumbolo &amp; AJ Melillo)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Public Affair Program:<\/strong>\u00a0Frankie Perez\u2019s \u201cFocus Immigration\u201d (Frankie Perez, Amanda Siess, Filipe Costa, Alex Podolyanchuck, Justin Tirado)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Live Broadcast Promotional Event:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cToo Many Tickets\u201d (Sam Carliner).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Spot News Coverage:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cEvent with Diane Grossman\u201d (Stephen Rumbolo)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Station ID:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cGood Evening\u201d (by Josh Tirado)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Sports Interview:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cMSU football\u201d (WMSC Sports Team)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Website:<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wmscradio.com\/\">wmscradio.com<\/a>\u00a0(Jeff Ramella &amp; Ashley Koutras)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Use of Youtube<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=l4rO6_aazOU\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=l4rO6_aazOU<\/a>\u00a0 (WMSC Student Management Team\u00a0+ Greg Matos)<\/p>\n<p>The IBS has yet to announce its student management or video categories yet.\u00a0 Those are expected within the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The conference and awards will take place next year in New York City on March 6 \u2013 7.\u00a0 Guest speakers will include Lou Simon of Sirius XM, Race Taylor from CBS-FM, Maxwell of Z100, Lee Harris from 1010 News, and Tim Scheld of WCBS 880 in New York<\/p>\n<p>Every year the Intercollegiate Broadcast System honors the best and the brightest among college and high school media.\u00a0 The IBS is an organization with a membership of over one thousand non-profit, education-affiliated radio stations and webcasters.
