
Deborah Perelmuter
Retired Senior Vice President – Federal Reserve Bank of NY
Deborah Perelmuter spent nearly thirty years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (鈥淏ank鈥). She retired as a Senior Vice President and Senior Financial Stability Advisor in the Bank鈥檚 Research and Statistics Group. Ms. Perelmuter was responsible for advising internal executive leadership on monetary policy issues and operations, central banking functions and financial markets.聽 She also actively provided the public with perspective on the Bank鈥檚 missions, operations, and challenges.
Much of Ms. Perelmuter鈥檚 tenure was within the Bank鈥檚 Markets Group. Her expertise ranges from financial market and policy analysis and operations to managing high-level external relationships. Her leadership positions included co-Head of Capital Markets Analysis and Trading, Head of Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income, and Senior Policy Advisor. She also had executive responsibility for numerous technology and analytic projects both within the Bank and as fiscal agent for the United States Treasury Department
Currently, Ms. Perelmuter speaks to university and business groups on economics, monetary policy, and crisis management, is a聽contributor to a leading survey on economics and policy and provides pro bono consulting to other central banks on operations and business processes.
Ms. Perelmuter holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Stern School, New York University.
