  {"id":15521,"date":"2015-11-18T09:15:24","date_gmt":"2015-11-18T14:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/news\/article.php?ArticleID=15521"},"modified":"2018-09-25T10:13:11","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T14:13:11","slug":"15521_5-tips-for-successful-interviewing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/career-services\/2015\/11\/18\/15521_5-tips-for-successful-interviewing\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Tips For Successful Interviewing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><strong>There Are Two Types of Interviews<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">Traditional Interview<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">Traditional interview questions focus on the candidate\u2019s skills, employment history, and experience.\u00a0 <\/span>For example, you may be asked why you should be hired or to describe your relevant work experiences.\u00a0 When answering traditional interview questions it is important to draw parallels between the job description and your background.\u00a0 Be sure to reference specific examples from your resume.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">Behavioral Interview<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">During a behavioral interview, employers look at past behavior to predict future success in the position.\u00a0 <\/span>For example, you may be asked to describe a time that you exhibited leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, or initiative.\u00a0 When answering a behavioral-based question, it is important to speak in detail about how you handled a specific situation and be ready to describe the outcome.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">Tips for Successful Interviewing<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><strong>1.
