Whether the program takes place in the summer or over the course of a full semester, it can help you expand your worldview, enhance your language skills and professional opportunities, and connect you with people and travel to places that are well outside your normal routine. The Media School at Bournemouth University is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for combining research and teaching practice. A semester at BU will offer you the opportunity to learn from the very best academics and practitioners in their field, meet new, lifelong friends and future colleagues from around the world, enjoy the award-winning tourist destinations of Bournemouth and Poole, and travel around the UK and neighboring countries visiting areas of cultural significance and beauty.<\/p>\n<p>All SCM students can find a matching program at BU in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/discover\/faculties\/faculty-media-communication\/our-departments\/department-corporate-marketing-communications\">Department of Corporate and Marketing Communications<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/discover\/faculties\/faculty-media-communication\/our-departments\/department-media-production\">Department of Media Production<\/a>, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/discover\/faculties\/faculty-media-communication\/our-departments\/school-journalism-english-communication\">School of Journalism, English and Communication<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Application Process<\/h3>\n<p>-Apply by <strong><em>March 1<\/em><\/strong> of your sophomore year (for fall of junior year) or <em><strong>October 1<\/strong><\/em> of your junior year (for spring of junior year).-Earn 15 credits \u2013 All approved for required courses, major electives, or free electives depending on program. Program runs in the fall from late September to mid-January and in the spring from early February to June.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE<\/strong><\/em>: Please be advised that BU confers academic credits only once a year, in the summer. Your credits will not be reflected in the total number of credits you have until then.
