{"id":207867,"date":"2025-01-27T14:17:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-27T19:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/communication-sciences-and-disorders\/?p=207867"},"modified":"2025-01-27T14:17:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T19:17:17","slug":"call-for-public-comments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/communication-sciences-and-disorders\/2025\/01\/27\/call-for-public-comments\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Public Comments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/communication-sciences-and-disorders\/\">Department of Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders<\/a> is delighted to invite you to a public meeting with our site visitors from the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association regarding our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/communication-sciences-and-disorders\/academic-programs\/speech-language-pathology-m-a\/\">Speech-Language Pathology master\u2019s degree<\/a> program.<\/p>\n<h4>Details of the Meeting<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> 1515 Broad St. Bloomfield, NJ 07003, Room 2109<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time and Date:<\/strong> Monday, February 24th, 2025, 4:45-5:30 PM<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/montclair.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_3Ku9k47lNt6hFoa\"><strong>RSVP<\/strong><\/a> (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) offers voluntary accreditation to graduate degree programs in Audiology and in Speech-Language Pathology housed within institutions of higher education. The CAA has the authority to establish and enforce a set of standards for the accreditation of graduate education programs in these areas and has the authority to make accreditation decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals who wish to provide input about a program may do so in two ways:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Submitting written comments prior to the accreditation site visit in accordance with the procedures outlined on the <a href=\"https:\/\/caa.asha.org\/programs\/call-for-public-comments\/\">CAA&#8217;s Public Comment policy page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Attending and providing comments at a public meeting during the program\u2019s scheduled site visit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All comments provided must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relate to a program\u2019s compliance with the Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology in effect at the time comments are submitted.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the specific program seeking candidacy, initial accreditation, or reaccreditation with the CAA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß provides reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities.
