{"id":10217,"date":"2012-09-14T15:34:51","date_gmt":"2012-09-14T19:34:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/news\/article.php?ArticleID=10217"},"modified":"2018-05-04T10:15:46","modified_gmt":"2018-05-04T14:15:46","slug":"10217_construction-update-for-week-of-september-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/facilities\/2012\/09\/14\/10217_construction-update-for-week-of-september-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction Update for Week of September 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Construction is ongoing for the new combined heating, cooling, and power (CHCP) plant next to Car-Parc Diem (formerly Parking Lot 26) and the installation of distribution piping is continuing on University Promenade.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The piping installation along University Promenade is nearing completion and the pipe is installed in the main roadway and backfilling operations are underway. The pedestrian traffic pattern will not change for the next week.<\/p>\n<p>Significant phases in the construction that are upcoming are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The entire section of University Promenade from the back of Calcia Hall to the south end of Sprague Library will be closed on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29. This includes the west entrance of Dickson Hall that is currently open. This area will be closed for asphalt paving (weather permitting). An updated pedestrian map reflecting this change will be distributed on or about September 21.<\/li>\n<li>Piping installation has begun in on the western edge of the campus behind Stone Hall and will continue south. Construction in this area has no direct impact on pedestrian or vehicular traffic; however, everyone is reminded to be observant of construction vehicles moving in and out of the area.<\/li>\n<li>Campus Shuttle service will remain available at the north end of University Hall at the newly installed bus loop and bus stop.<\/li>\n<li>The attached <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/facilities\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/57\/2017\/12\/BusStopMapemai2l_0001.jpg\">construction map<\/a> shows the vehicular and pedestrian traffic around campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All roadways and pedestrian routes will be clearly marked so the campus community can navigate construction areas easily.
