Implicit biases are everywhere. They’re a part of the institutions, ideas, and processes we interact with on a daily basis. Sometimes, they\u2019re so embedded in our day-to-day lives that they go unnoticed and unquestioned. Universities and their pedagogical traditions are no exception, with implicit biases creating challenges that can make college classrooms unwelcoming for students from diverse backgrounds.<\/p>\n
However, once you know they exist, addressing implicit biases is not an impossible task \u2014 especially at a university like Â鶹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß, where many of our esteemed faculty members are not only aware of these biases, but also work intentionally to design courses that effectively educate a diverse student body.<\/p>\n
Please note, while this panel is being held in honor of Black History Month, the inclusive practices discussed are designed to be actively and consistently implemented beyond February.<\/p>\n
