You <strong>MUST<\/strong> use the Google Authenticator App.<\/li>\n<li>Do not include a space when typing in your code.<\/li>\n<li>Do not delete the the Google Authenticator App as you will need to use it when you open SSO applications.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>What is multi-factor authentication?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MFA is a security measure that requires users to provide at least two forms of identification to verify their identity when accessing an account or system. This adds an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access, reducing the risk of data breaches and cyber-attacks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What should I do first and is there an instruction guide?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before you even start the process, you need to install the Google Authenticator App on your mobile device. You can look at our instruction guide <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/168\/2023\/10\/MFA-Quick-Reference-Guide-v2.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Should there be a space when entering your number? (Ex. Google Authenticator gives 123 123)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No. Do not enter the space. (Example &#8211; Enter 123123)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Do I need to use this process every time?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes. You will need to enter a new 6-digit code from the Authenticator app each time you log into the SSO portal to access an SSO-enabled application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Does this only affect me when I\u2019m signing in while on campus? <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regardless of where you are when you are signing into devices needing SSO, you will need to provide multi-factor authentication to get signed in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Is this optional? <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No. Everyone will be required to use multi-factor authentication when signing in applications that require SSO. A list of those applications can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1Zj1KAdMfLmlccxHBRjgfJf8gu8G0uWjznm-lAQjycr8\/edit\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What if I don\u2019t have a smartphone? <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you do not have a smartphone, you may set up multi-factor authentication on any other mobile device that you have, such as an iPad or tablet. You may also contact the IT Service Desk at (973) 655-7971 for assistance with other multi-factor authentication options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Should I ever delete my Google Authenticator App?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No, you will need to use the Google Authenticator app to generate a new 6-digit code each time you log into Nest SSO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who should I call for help if I cannot get in?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please reach out to the IT Service Desk at (973) 655-7971<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Is there a list of Single Sign On (SSO) Enabled Applications?<br \/>\nYes. You can find the list <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1Zj1KAdMfLmlccxHBRjgfJf8gu8G0uWjznm-lAQjycr8\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Built-In iPhone Authenticator (Unsupported)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While we have standardized on Google Authenticator, you can use the iPhone built-in authenticator if you are having issues.<br \/>\n<strong>iPhone Code Built In:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click \u201cON A MOBILE DEVICE?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>You will see multiple passwords for 麻豆传媒在线 but Click on \u201ciams-auth.麻豆传媒在线.edu\u201d and make sure it has your netId in username.<\/li>\n<li>The code will show up under the password labeled as \u201cverification code\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The code will expire every 30 seconds and generate a new one<\/li>\n<li>Type the code on NEST and you&#8217;re done.<\/li>\n<li><strong>I do not receive the popup when I try to get my code. Is there a way to manually find it?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To get code to sign in again (iPhone):<\/li>\n<li>Go to settings<\/li>\n<li>Go to search and type \u201cpasswords\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In passwords go to search and type \u201ciams-auth.麻豆传媒在线.edu\u201d Please Note: Make sure it\u2019s the password you set the code to<\/li>\n<li>You will see the verification code under username and password<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Student Multifactor Authentication FAQs We have put together some Frequently Asked Questions that we thought would be helpful!
