For the fifth consecutive year, the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies at New York University has selected Dr. Fiore as a Visiting Fellow. From Sept. 2014 to Aug. 2015 she will carry out her research projects on migration from/to Italy with the assistance of the NYU library resources and services and as part of an interdisciplinary group of scholars.
2. Meeting聽with President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies
On May 23, 2014, Teresa Fiore participated in a meeting with the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Laura Boldrini, at the Consulate of Italy in New York devoted to the work of 鈥渘ew Italians鈥 in NYC. In a Facebook post, the President cited her research on current immigration from Italy to the U.S.:聽

3.聽聽Presentation on Oriana Fallaci鈥檚 Journalism and Fiction聽at the Italian Cultural Institute聽
On October 23, 2014 Dr. Fiore presented the paper 鈥淕ender, Islam, and Migration in Oriana Fallaci鈥檚 Writings鈥 at a panel entitled 鈥淚talian Women Writers between Journalism and Literature鈥 and organized by the Italian Cultural Institute, NYC on the occasion of the annual Italian Language Week activities.

3. Article on Business Italian Style: A Videojournalism Project at MSU

In line with Dr. Fiore鈥檚 research, the program was designed to offer an academic setting for a conversation among international scholars (University of Florence, University of Bologna, Columbia University) on the topic of writing in more than one language and culture, as well as a public forum for the presentation of two recent anthologies on Italian writing abroad in the company of the volumes鈥 editors and contributors.聽
