Our mathematics education research topics include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Children\u2019s Topological Thinking<\/li>\n<li>Creativity and Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Culturally Responsive Pedagogy<\/li>\n<li>Geometric Reasoning<\/li>\n<li>Inquiry based learning<\/li>\n<li>Making for Mathematical Learning<\/li>\n<li>Math for Social Justice<\/li>\n<li>Math-Science &amp; Math-Art connections<\/li>\n<li>Online Mathematics Pedagogy<\/li>\n<li>Perseverance and Problem Solving<\/li>\n<li>Teacher Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate STEM education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Pure Mathematics<\/h2>\n<p>Our department\u2019s mathematicians pursue several areas of pure mathematics in their research. Pure mathematics research in our department includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Combinatorics<\/li>\n<li>Graph Theory<\/li>\n<li>Number Theory<\/li>\n<li>Probability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Applied Mathematics<\/h2>\n<p>Several topics in applied mathematics are also a focus of our department research efforts.
