The MA program features five content courses and six courses in mathematics pedagogy. These courses focus on strengthening students\u2019 content knowledge of mathematics for teaching, while modeling effective teaching practices.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Many of our graduate students are balancing work and other life responsibilities, so we are making our program more flexible and accessible to meet our students\u2019 needs<\/p>\n<footer><cite>Dr. Jonathan Cutler, Graduate Program Coordinator<\/cite><\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The fully online Teaching Middle Grades Mathematics programs offer synchronous meetings, which provide opportunities for live interaction with classmates and faculty in the online format. Students in the fully online program will\u00a0engage in high-quality coursework that leverages web-based tools for hands-on activities, rich explorations and critical discussions of contemporary issues in mathematics education.<\/p>\n<p>Our programs provide teachers with a broad understanding of the fundamental principles that underlie middle school mathematics, while making practical connections to the classroom.
