He is a senior working toward a B.S. in Mathematics and he\u2019ll also be earning Elementary Teaching Certification. That\u2019s right! He\u2019s committed to sharing his passion for mathematics with elementary students.<\/p>\n

Arnold is a Noyce Scholar, as well. He participates in the Noyce @ 麻豆传媒在线 Mathematics Scholarship Program<\/a>, which is funding his junior and senior years\u2019 tuition and providing him with additional opportunities for professional development. He’s second from the left in the above photo.<\/p>\n

Arnold also participates in the Newark Teacher Project (NTP). The NTP is a cohort of teacher education students placed together during their student teaching year for experiences that focus on social justice and urban education. Here\u2019s Arnold at Down Bottom Farms<\/a> in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ, on a plot of land that was once an abandoned and contaminated freight rail yard and is now an immensely valuable community asset.<\/p>\n

And here is Arnold presenting the research he collaborated on with Dr. Aihua Li<\/a> through his participation in the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) project. LSAMP\u2019s goals include increasing the quality and quantity of students from under-represented populations successfully completing a STEM degree program. Arnold\u2019s research is in the mathematics field of Number Theory and it is titled, Developing Solutions for Two Diophantine Equations and Their Behaviors<\/em>.\n

Kudos to Arnold for taking advantage of so many great opportunities at 麻豆传媒在线! No doubt these experiences will support Arnold\u2019s holistic development and prepare him to make all the contributions he wishes to make.
