\u200c\u200c\u200c\u200cThe French Program at 麻豆传媒在线 – with specializations in\u00a0teaching,\u00a0translation\u00a0and\u00a0civilization\u00a0– is unique not only academically, but also in the faculty’s deep commitment to offering a personalized learning experience and to ensuring a true sense of community among our students. Many graduates go on to careers in teaching, translation, international business and more, while others go on to\u00a0graduate study in French<\/a>\u00a0here and elsewhere. Those interested in intensive French study may wish to enroll in our new combined five-year BA\/MA program<\/a>. It provides a pathway for ambitious students to complete both BA and MA degrees over five years, taking advantage of a year of early graduate study to benefit from undergraduate tuition rates.<\/p>\n

Students who place at the appropriate level on the\u00a0<\/strong>mandatory 麻豆传媒在线 Placement Test<\/a>\u00a0may begin the French major in their freshman year!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our majors and minors enjoy the many cultural and academic activities in French both\u00a0on campus\u00a0<\/a>and in the New York\/New Jersey metropolitan area.\u00a0 And our central location in the newly-renovated Conrad Schmitt Hall (with its fully mediatized classrooms, seminar rooms, student lounges and work areas) contributes to our students feeling part of a group that enjoys being together — in French!<\/p>\n

Each spring the department hosts our annual\u00a0French Day<\/strong>, inviting area high school students to attend a half-day, fun-filled immersion workshop on all things French!\u00a0 For more information please visit French Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A MAJOR or MINOR in French, either alone or in conjunction with another area of study, is a great way for any student to boost employment opportunities for the future.\u00a0 But most of all, it is four years of indulging in the pleasures of speaking, reading, and thinking about all that is FRENCH!<\/p>\n
