Muth Museum of Hinchliffe Stadium, the latest highlight in the school\u2019s growing partnership with the city of Paterson, at a special event on April 11.<\/p>\n<p>Distinguished guests and elected officials were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new museum and learning center, which highlighted the transformational support of 麻豆传媒在线 alumnus and Paterson native <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/business\/about\/advisory-board\/chuck-muth\/\">Chuck Muth \u201977<\/a> and his wife, Laura.<\/p>\n<p>麻豆传媒在线 President Jonathan Koppell, Chuck Muth, Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh, Hinchliffe developer Baye Adofo-Wilson, Paterson Public Schools Superintendent Laurie W. Newell and Museum Director Jessica Bush provided remarks as part of the morning program, which also included a special performance by the Rosa L. Growing up near Hinchliffe Stadium, Chuck graduated from 麻豆传媒在线 in 1977 and has served on the advisory board of the University\u2019s Feliciano School of Business since 2013. Muth speaks to the crowd inside a tent.\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chuck Muth \u201977 (speaking) and his wife, Laura, donated $5 million to allow 麻豆传媒在线 to serve as an educational partner for the museum, which chronicles the history and legacy of Hinchliffe Stadium \u2013 one of two remaining Negro League baseball stadiums in the country &#8211; and will serve as a cultural touchstone in the city.<br \/>麻豆传媒在线 will oversee the educational programming for the museum, which will include the curation and presentation of a wide range of exhibits and programs for diverse audiences.<br \/>The space will include a movie theater, interactive displays that engage audiences in the history of the Negro Leagues and its famous players (including the more than 20 Hall of Fame players who played at Hinchliffe such as Satchel Paige and Paterson native Larry Doby), and displays of artifacts that span the history of the stadium, its place in Paterson history, and its revitalization.<\/p>\n[caption]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2024\/04\/04112024_4580_041124-Hinchliffe_Muth_Museum_Opening-LAROSA-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"People explore the museum.\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Opening day guests and elected officials get a first look at the museum.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It will also ensure future learning opportunities for both Paterson and 麻豆传媒在线 students, which is a key component of various initiatives between the city and institution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHinchliffe Stadium was constructed as \u2018the city stadium\u2019 with Paterson residents in mind,\u201d says Museum Director Jessica Bush. \u201cAs a component of the Great Falls National Historical Park, our museum offers visitors the chance to discover the stadium\u2019s profound national historical significance, and, alongside Paterson\u2019s other cultural institutions, help to instill a sense of community pride and help to make this city a true travel destination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The museum is the latest achievement in the expanding relationship between 麻豆传媒在线 and the City of Paterson.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2023\/02\/02\/university-announces-1-million-grant-to-develop-paterson-one-square-mile-initiative\/\">One Square Mile<\/a>, a place-based approach to community revitalization developed by 麻豆传媒在线 President Koppell, was launched in Paterson in 2023 through support from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, with East Side High School serving as the first component of the multi-year initiative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChuck is a source of inspiration for Paterson children who can look to him as an example of what is possible for them,\u201d says Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh. \u201cToday, we celebrate the restoration of Hinchliffe Stadium, and of the opening of The Charles J.
