  {"id":2315,"date":"2024-01-30T10:56:18","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T15:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/orientation\/?page_id=2315"},"modified":"2026-03-11T12:01:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T16:01:22","slug":"ols","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/orientation\/ols\/","title":{"rendered":"Orientation Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #333333\">The Orientation Leadership Program at 麻豆传媒在线 is designed to enhance the personal, academic, and professional growth of students serving on the Orientation Team through intentional training, peer-to-peer mentorship, and elevated leadership opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Students participating in the Orientation Leadership Program will:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Expand their <strong>knowledge and understanding<\/strong> of 麻豆传媒在线 and the resources available to all students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Collaborate with their peers and contribute to a team atmosphere rooted in <strong>respect and belonging<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Explore campus diversity to become <strong>inclusive and equitable<\/strong> student leaders equipped to create <strong>community<\/strong> amongst incoming students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Develop the mindfulness and skills necessary to become <strong>confident, competent, and career-ready<\/strong> individuals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #333333\">Each spring, a new cohort of Orientation Leaders are added to the Orientation Team and begin their development through participation in the Orientation Leadership Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Orientation Leaders<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Orientation Leaders (OLs)<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are high-energy undergraduate student leaders who possess leadership potential and a demonstrated interest in supporting a diverse population of freshman and transfer students at Undergraduate Orientation. OLs are responsible for leading groups of 70-90 incoming students per session through the Orientation day schedule and facilitating group discussions and team-building activities that promote connection between incoming students.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Position Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Must be a current undergraduate student at 麻豆传媒在线.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Have a minimum cumulative GPA of <strong>2.75 or higher.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Have earned a minimum of 12 credits at 麻豆传媒在线.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Have no open conduct cases through the Dean of Students Office and the Office of Residence Life. Judicial records will be reviewed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Possess leadership potential as evidenced by previous leadership experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Orientation Mentors<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Orientation Mentors (OMs)<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are returning Orientation Leaders with an elevated responsibility of mentoring a group of their peers. OMs serve as a point of contact for an assigned color group throughout training and Undergraduate Orientation. Orientation Mentors lead a group of Orientation Leaders through the experience of welcoming new students, creating supportive spaces, and addressing the needs of all new students.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\">*The Orientation Mentor position is filled internally with returning members of the Orientation Team.*<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Orientation Assistants<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #333333\"><strong>Orientation Assistants (OAs)<\/strong> are experienced student leaders who have served at least one year on the Orientation Team and possess distinct leadership capabilities. OAs are responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of the Orientation Team, assist in the execution of Undergraduate Orientation, and handle phone and email inquiries from new students and their families on behalf of Orientation Programs.
