  {"id":472,"date":"2019-07-03T16:02:23","date_gmt":"2019-07-03T20:02:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/teaching-and-learning\/?page_id=472"},"modified":"2023-12-20T10:27:45","modified_gmt":"2023-12-20T15:27:45","slug":"clinic-for-evidence-based-practices-in-schools","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/teaching-and-learning\/clinic-for-evidence-based-practices-in-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Clinic for Evidence-Based Practices in Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<strong>Clinic for Evidence-Based Practices in Schools (CEPS)<\/strong>\u00a0offers a range of services using a behavioral ecological consultation model (Sheridan &amp; Kratochwill, 2007) to address behavioral (social-emotional\/mental health) and academic needs for at-risk and special education students (ages 5 to 21) and provides coaching and training supports for schools in establishing effective systems that facilitate successful implementation of evidence-based practices.<\/p>\n<p>These services include:<\/p>\n<h2>Direct Services for Children &amp; Families:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Assessments<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>&amp;<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Interventions\u00a0<\/strong>(individualized needs of students)\n<ul>\n<li>Behavioral supports (functional behavioral assessments, behavioral intervention plan)<\/li>\n<li>Academic supports (curriculum-based assessments, academic interventions across reading, math, writing, spelling)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Consultation Services for Schools<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Consultation &amp; Technical assistance<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Consultation and training for school staff for multi-tiered systems of support\n<ul>\n<li>School-wide programs such as School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), School Mental Health (SMH) and Response to Intervention (RTI))<\/li>\n<li>Teacher consultation for classroom management, social skills lessons, group interventions<\/li>\n<li>Individual student interventions for intensive needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating cross-system collaboration\n<ul>\n<li>Working on strengthening home-school communication and interventions<\/li>\n<li>Connecting schools and hospitals\/community clinics to create school-based health clinic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Professional Development for School Staff and Other Professionals<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Professional development\u00a0<\/strong>(for teachers, staff, teams and administrators)\n<ul>\n<li>Professional developments, in-services and workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Requests for specific training accepted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Services are provided both at the Clinic on Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÔÚÏß campus as well as on-site (i.e., in schools) based on need and type of service.
