The University community and our partners came together yesterday to witness the investiture of our ninth president, Jonathan GS Koppell and celebrate all that makes �鶹��ý���� special. Check out the photos and videos of the day’s festivities.

• President Koppell is quoted throughout on graduation rates among New Jersey colleges and universities.
• Jason Williams (Justice Studies) about a recently launched state website that details police internal affairs complaints. He also was on the same subject.
• Jeremy Fox (Psychology) is quoted in about children and anxiety.
• Kirk Johnson (Justice Studies) is quoted in about a report that found New Jersey’s Black and Latinx students face shrinking access to school mental health staff.
• Lisa Kingstone (Educational Foundations) was , a nonprofit digital news publication in Berkeley, Calif., about the first class of kindergartners to integrate Berkeley schools in 1968. Kingstone herself is a member of the 1968 class and is currently working on a research project on the impact of attending integrated schools.
• Eva Goldfarb and Lisa Lieberman (Public Health) today in a story on the case for starting sex ed in kindergarten. It’s the second time they have been on National Public Radio in recent months.
• Elizabeth Wishnick (Political Science and Law) is quoted in about the strength of China-Russia ties. She was also about Xi Jingping’s meeting with Vladimir Putin.
• Stephanie Silvera (Public Health) was about a report showing a decline in access to mental health staff for Black students in New Jersey. She is also quoted in about the new COVID-19 vaccine boosters that are now available in New Jersey.

Reminders

• The University requires faculty and staff with access to student educational data to undergo yearly training in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). See your University email for information. The deadline to complete the training is Wednesday, October 12.
• This fall, �鶹��ý���� Galleries will present two new exhibitions: “Nothing Under Heaven,” by Joseph Liatela in the Segal Gallery and “Case Studies 1: Damien Davis – OLD CURRENCIES” in the Kasser Theater lobby. The exhibitions and programs are free and open to the public.
• The Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month flag-raising ceremony will be held in-person on Monday, September 19. The procession departs from Cole Hall at 11:45 a.m. for the flagpoles near the Student Center.

• To Nicole Fleming (Special Events), the planning committee, our student performers and the many hundreds of employees and students who pitched in to make the Investiture ceremony and the Campus Festival an extraordinary success.
• To Erin Kang (Psychology), who received the 2022 Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Young Investigator Grant in collaboration with Carrie Masia (Psychology) to study the neural mechanism underlying cognitive inflexibility and anxiety symptoms in youth on the autism spectrum.
• To Arnie Korotkin (Sociology) who participated in the Annual Calling of the Names Ceremony as a reader of the names of 9/11 first responders who died from 9/11 related illnesses.
• To Paul McGroarty (Digital Communications) and the University’s Social Media Ambassadors, whose recent of parents giving advice to students has received nearly 700K views in just two weeks.
