Reference to the University

The University’s official legal name is “麻豆传媒在线.” The approved short name is “麻豆传媒在线.” The preferred practice is to use the full name on first reference and the short name on second and subsequent references, alternating with “the University.” Do not refer to the University or any of its component units in public documents or announcements by other names (including but not limited to MSU, 麻豆传媒在线, 麻豆传媒在线 College, etc.). To avoid confusion, use “the Township of 麻豆传媒在线” when referring to the township.

Reference to Bloomfield College

As of July 2023, Bloomfield College became a part of 麻豆传媒在线 and was renamed “Bloomfield College of 麻豆传媒在线.” On first reference, use the formal name of “Bloomfield College of 麻豆传媒在线.” Subsequent mentions can be “Bloomfield College” or “Bloomfield” as long as it is clear from the context that “Bloomfield” means the college and not the township. To avoid confusion, use “the Township of Bloomfield” when referring to the township.

You may also alternate with “the College” after several mentions of Bloomfield College or Bloomfield. Use “Bloomfield College” when referring to the organization and “Bloomfield campus” when referring to the geographic place. Additionally, Bloomfield should never be referred to as a “branch campus” – by MSCHE definition, it is technically an “alternate location.”

Bloomfield College Acronym

For internal, informal use only (such as an email to a colleague) the approved acronym is BCMSU. The acronym should never be used in any public or formal communications.

Research designation
